  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1-2 cups chocolate chips mix of semi-sweet, milk, and bittersweet

Method
 

Steps
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. Partially melt 1 cup of unsalted butter and let it cool slightly.
  3. Cream the melted butter with 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 3/4 cup light brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add 2 eggs and 1 teaspoon of pure vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
  5. Whisk together 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon salt, and gradually add to the wet mixture.
  6. Fold in 1 to 2 cups of chocolate chips evenly into the dough.
  7. Scoop the dough onto prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each scoop.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes for larger cookies or 8-9 minutes for smaller ones.
  9. Allow cookies to cool on baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
