Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water, 1/2 cup of butter, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 cup of sugar. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.
- Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and add 1 cup of all-purpose flour. Stir vigorously until a smooth dough forms, about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the dough cool for 4-5 minutes.
- After it has cooled slightly, add 1 beaten egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Use an electric mixer to whip the mixture until smooth.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 5 minutes.
- Transfer the dough into a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe bite-sized churro shapes into the air fryer basket.
- Brush each piped churro lightly with melted butter.
- Air fry the churro bites for 10-12 minutes, checking halfway through to ensure even cooking.
- Once done, remove them from the basket and let them cool.
- In a shallow bowl, mix together 1/4 cup of sugar and 1 tablespoon of cinnamon. Toss the warm churro bites in the mixture.
- Serve them warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
