Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your grill or stovetop grill pan to medium-high heat, around 400°F, for about 10 minutes.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, breadcrumbs, grated parmesan cheese, and chopped red onion. Drizzle olive oil and mix gently.
  3. Add chili powder, ground cumin, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Fold until evenly distributed.
  4. Incorporate the egg into the mixture and mix until combined.
  5. Shape the mixture into four equal patties, about ¾ inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center.
  6. Grill the patties for 5 to 6 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and grill the other side for another 5 to 6 minutes until cooked through.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns cut-side down on the grill for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly browned.
  8. Assemble the burgers with salsa on the bottom bun, topped with a patty, sliced avocado, and cilantro.
