Step‑by‑Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and spray a loaf pan with non-stick cooking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter, canola oil, and sugar using an electric mixer for about 2-3 minutes until creamy.
- Add eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Gradually fold in flour, baking powder, and salt, then pour in buttermilk while mixing gently until just combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine a portion of batter with molasses and cinnamon until blended.
- Layer half of the original batter into the prepared loaf pan, followed by half of the cinnamon mixture, smoothing each layer.
- Repeat with the remaining batter and cinnamon mixture, creating two distinct layers.
- Use a butter knife to gently swirl through the layers to create a marbled effect.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean and the top is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven, cool for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
- While warm, dip each slice in melted butter and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Allow to cool completely before slicing and serve warm with coffee or tea.
