Step-by-Step Instructions for Plum-Glazed Lamb
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Gather your ingredients and equipment, including a roasting pan and a meat thermometer.
  2. Place the bone-in leg of lamb fat side up on a rack in a shallow baking pan. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Insert the baking pan with the lamb into the preheated oven. Roast for approximately 1 hour 45 minutes to 2 hours.
  4. While the lamb roasts, drain the canned plums and blend the plums, syrup, garlic, lemon juice, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and basil until smooth.
  5. Baste the lamb every 15 minutes during the last hour of roasting with the glaze.
  6. Simmer the remaining glaze in a small saucepan over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  7. Allow the lamb to rest for at least 10 minutes after removing it from the oven, then carve and serve with glaze.
