  • 1 cup Carrots Finely diced; can substitute bell peppers.
  • 1/2 cup Green Onions Chives can be substituted.
  • 5 pcs Dried Shiitake Mushrooms Soaked and chopped.
  • 2 tbsp Golden Mountain Sauce Can use soy sauce.
  • 1 tbsp White Sugar Brown sugar can be used.
  • 2 tbsp Oyster Sauce Mushroom sauce as a vegan alternative.
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch Tapioca starch is a good replacement.
Wrapper Ingredients
  • 12 pcs Dumpling Wrappers Homemade or store-bought.
Finishing Touches
  • 1 tbsp Sesame Oil Vegetable oil can be used.
  • 1 tbsp Garlic Oil Optional.
  • 1/4 cup Crispy Fried Garlic For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Use a mortar and pestle to pound the coriander roots, black peppercorns, and garlic until finely ground. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground pork with golden mountain sauce, sugar, sesame oil, oyster sauce, and cornstarch. Add ground spices, egg, diced carrots, green onions, and soaked mushrooms. Mix thoroughly.
  3. Take a dumpling wrapper, add about 1 tablespoon of filling, moisten edges with water, fold in half, and pinch to seal. Repeat until all filling is used.
  4. Line your steamer with parchment. Arrange dumplings in a single layer and steam for about 10 minutes until wrappers are translucent.
  5. Serve hot with dipping sauces like soy sauce or sweet chili sauce.
