Step-by-Step Instructions for Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Bake
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil and heat for a minute. Toss in the diced onion and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until soft and translucent.
  3. Add 1 pound of ground turkey to the skillet with the sautéed onions and cook for approximately 5-6 minutes until browned and no longer pink.
  4. Stir in 3 minced garlic cloves, 1 chopped red bell pepper, and 3-4 cups of diced sweet potatoes. Season with smoked paprika, ground cumin, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Cook for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Transfer the mixture to your prepared baking dish, level it out, cover with aluminum foil, and bake for 25 minutes.
