Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, usually around 8-10 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) to ensure an evenly cooked dish.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the breakfast sausage until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, sauté the diced onions over medium heat until soft and translucent, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. In a saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, whisk in flour, and gradually add milk until the sauce thickens, about 5 minutes. Mix in Parmesan and garlic powder.
  7. Layer in a greased baking dish: noodles, egg mixture, sausage, onions, bacon, and shredded cheese. Repeat layers ending with cheese sauce and mozzarella.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until bubbly and lightly golden.
  9. Let the lasagna rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing to help layers set.

Notes

Gently scramble the eggs to prevent overcooking; they will continue to cook in the oven. Always opt for freshly shredded cheese for better melting quality.
