Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat, adding the ground beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes until fully browned. Stir in the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are softened.
  2. Add the canned beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the skillet, stirring well. Sprinkle in the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, oregano, cayenne, salt, and pepper. Allow to simmer for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish and transfer the chili mixture to it. Evenly sprinkle the cheddar cheese on top. Bake for 15 minutes, until cheese is bubbly and golden.
