Method
 

Preparation and Cooking Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, melt about half a cup of butter and mix in an equal amount of maple syrup. Optionally add fresh herbs.
  3. Rub the turkey with the maple-butter mixture thoroughly.
  4. Place the glazed turkey breast side up in a roasting pan and roast for 2 to 2.5 hours, basting every 30 minutes.
  5. Check internal temperature after about 2 hours. It should reach at least 165°F (74°C).
  6. Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the turkey rest for 20-30 minutes before carving.
  7. Carve the turkey and serve with extra glaze, if desired.
