  • 2 tablespoons Chopped Parsley Omit if desired.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet
  • Cookie scoop
  • baking sheet

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, combine ground beef and ground hot sausage. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, breaking the meat into smaller pieces until browned.
  2. While the meat is browning, dice Velveeta cheese into small cubes and set aside.
  3. Once the meat is thoroughly cooked, drain excess fat and return the skillet to the heat. Add diced Velveeta cheese and stir for 2-3 minutes until melted.
  4. Mix in Worcestershire sauce, oregano, garlic salt, and salt. Stir for another minute to combine flavors.
  5. Preheat broiler to high and line a baking sheet with slices of party rye bread.
  6. Use a cookie scoop to portion out 2-tablespoon-sized portions of the filling onto each slice of rye bread.
  7. Broil under high for about 2-3 minutes, watching closely for bubbling and slight golden color.
  8. Optionally sprinkle chopped parsley over the appetizers before serving.
