  • 1 cup Heavy Whipping Cream
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar

Preparation Steps
  1. Combine hulled and sliced fresh strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice. Let sit for about 30 minutes to macerate.
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar for shortcake, baking powder, and salt until no lumps remain.
  4. Cut cold butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract, stirring until just combined.
  6. Turn dough onto a floured surface and gently knead 3-4 times. Pat into 1-inch thickness and cut into rounds.
  7. Place shortcakes on the prepared sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes until golden. Let cool slightly.
  8. Beat heavy whipping cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  9. Assemble by slicing each shortcake in half, adding strawberries and whipped cream.
