  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning Store-bought or homemade.
  • 4 cups Lettuce Romaine or iceberg are excellent choices.
  • 1-2 pieces Tomatoes Diced; cherry tomatoes are a great substitute.
  • 1 small Onion Red onions add color and a milder flavor.
  • 2-3 cups Doritos Any flavor of your choice.
For Toppings
  • 1 cup Sour Cream Low-fat versions work well.
  • 1 cup Cheese Shredded, use your favorite variety.
  • 1 cup Salsa Use your preferred type.

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large skillet, heat over medium heat, add ground beef or turkey, and cook until browned, about 7-10 minutes. Add taco seasoning and simmer for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  2. While the meat is cooking, wash and chop lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Dice the tomatoes and slice the onion, then add to the bowl with the lettuce.
  3. Once the meat is cooked, incorporate it into the mixing bowl with the veggies. Crush Doritos and sprinkle on top.
  4. Add shredded cheese, sour cream, and salsa on top as per preference.
  5. Lightly toss the salad just before serving to keep the Doritos crispy.
