Step‑by‑Step Instructions

  2. Steep 3 tea bags or 2 tbsp loose leaf in 1 cup warm milk for about 10 minutes.
  3. Cream together 1/2 cup butter and 1 cup sugar until light and fluffy (3-4 minutes).
  4. Add 2 large eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually mix in the steeped milk until well combined.
  6. Whisk together 2 cups flour, 1 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/2 tsp salt.
  7. Fold dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  8. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 45-55 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  10. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  11. Prepare honey glaze by mixing 1/2 cup honey with warm water if needed.
