- In a medium saucepan, combine 2 cups of fresh blueberries, the zest of half a lemon, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves and blueberries begin to burst, about 5-7 minutes.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat and allow the blueberry mixture to cool slightly, about 10 minutes.
- Once the syrup has cooled, take a fine mesh strainer and carefully pour the mixture through it into a large bowl or measuring cup.
- In a large pitcher, mix the strained blueberry syrup with 4 cups of cold water. Stir well to combine.
- Refrigerate the combined Blueberry Lemonade until chilled, about 1 hour.
