  3. In a saucepan, combine diced strawberries and sugar, cook until thickened.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, add egg and vanilla, then mix in dry ingredients.
  6. Fold in cooled strawberry jam without fully blending.
  7. Shape the dough around a cheesecake disc and form into balls.

  10. Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve warm or at room temperature.
