Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare the Tuna Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cans of well-drained tuna, 1 cup of breadcrumbs, 1 beaten egg, 2 finely chopped green onions, and 1 teaspoon of garlic powder. Mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. Form the Patties: Take small portions of the tuna mixture and shape them into patties that are approximately 2 inches wide and ½ inch thick. Place the formed patties on a plate lined with parchment paper.
  3. Cook the Cakes: Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and drizzle with oil. Add the patties in a single layer, cook for 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for an additional 3-4 minutes.
  4. Make the Aioli: While the patties are cooking, mix ½ cup of mayonnaise with 2-3 tablespoons of Sriracha sauce in a small bowl until well combined.
  5. Serve: Transfer the patties to a serving plate and drizzle the spicy Sriracha aioli over the warm cakes, or serve the aioli on the side for dipping.

Notes

Ensure that your canned tuna is thoroughly drained to prevent excess moisture. For extra crunch, substitute regular breadcrumbs with panko breadcrumbs. Refrigerate your formed patties for 15-30 minutes before frying to help them hold together better during cooking.
