  • 1 cup Macaroni Substitute with orzo for a twist

  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce Choose homemade for fresh taste
  • 1 large Onion Finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced
For Seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin Adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon Coriander

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Rinse rice and lentils under cold water until clear.
  2. Chop onion and garlic.
  3. In a pot, boil 4 cups of water and add lentils. Cook for 15-20 minutes until tender.
  4. In a separate pot, combine rice with 2 cups of water and a pinch of salt. Simmer for 15 minutes until fluffy.
  5. In boiling salted water, cook macaroni for 7-9 minutes until al dente.
  6. In a skillet, heat olive oil and sauté onions until golden, then add garlic.
  7. Add tomato sauce, cumin, and coriander to skillet. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  8. Combine rice, lentils, macaroni. Pour sauce over and mix well.
  9. Serve warm, garnished with fresh herbs or crispy onions if desired.
