  • 1 lb Ground Beef the star of the dish
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil for cooking the beef and onions
  • 1 Onion chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 4 medium Potatoes thinly sliced
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese can swap with mozzarella
  • 1/2 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Dried Italian Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Paprika
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Pepper to taste
  • 1 cup Beef Broth or water
  • 1/4 cup Milk optional
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley optional, for garnish

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with olive oil.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and brown the ground beef for 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  3. Sauté chopped onion and minced garlic in the same skillet for 3-4 minutes until translucent.
  4. Layer cooked ground beef in the greased baking dish, followed by thinly sliced potatoes.
  5. Season potatoes with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  6. Sprinkle shredded cheddar and grated parmesan cheese over the seasoned potatoes.
  7. Pour beef broth around edges of the dish, optionally drizzle milk for creaminess.
  8. Cover with aluminum foil and bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until cheese is golden and bubbly.
  10. Let cool briefly, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
