Step-by-Step Instructions
- Warm 1 cup of milk until lukewarm, then combine with 2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until frothy. Mix in ¼ cup sugar, ¼ cup softened butter, 1 beaten egg, and 3 cups all-purpose flour to form a soft dough.
- Knead the dough for 5-7 minutes on a floured surface until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
- Cook 6 slices of bacon until crispy, crumble into small pieces, and mix with ½ cup brown sugar and 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon.
- After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll into a rectangle. Spread the bacon filling over the dough and roll tightly into a log shape, slicing into 12 pieces.
- Place rolls into a greased baking dish, cover with a towel, and let rise for another 30-40 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix ¼ cup maple syrup with chopped candied bacon, drizzle over warm rolls and serve.
